Who We Are

The Red Door Housing Society...

is a non-profit housing society that has provided affordable rental housing in the Lower Mainland since 1985. We provide subsidized and below-market rent to families, older seniors, singles, and people with mobility issues with low to moderate incomes.

We work closely with our partners to manage and develop affordable rental housing across the Lower Mainland. Red Door Housing Society operates under a volunteer Board of Directors, consisting of business professionals and community leaders. The Board provides guidance by setting and approving policies and major program directives to ensure Red Door’s adherence to best practise and industry standards.

Our head office is located in south Vancouver and serves our 12 properties across the Lower Mainland. Our property management portfolio spans throughout the Lower Mainland providing townhouse and apartment units in Vancouver, Burnaby, Surrey, Maple Ridge, Ladner, Port Coquitlam and Coquitlam.

Starting in 2022, Red Door Housing Society initiated a process of renewal so we could evolve our organization to improve how we serve our communities. We have a new leadership team in place and new processes established to better respond to maintenance, repairs and tenant relations.

With Bailey Mumford as Executive Director, we conducted an audit across all our properties to identify opportunities to align our operations with industry best practices. As a result, we are in the process of rolling out a series of changes to policies, procedures and staffing.

The most important thing for us is our tenants and making sure they have safe, clean, affordable housing. Red Door Housing Society has been a part of the region for many years, and we are proud to provide high-quality, well-run, affordable housing across the Lower Mainland.
